About Watership Down Crafts

Hi, I’m Debbie, the maker behind Watership Down Crafts, a small UK business based in Kingsclere, Hampshire, right by the iconic hills of Watership Down.

I create one-of-a-kind tote bags, accessories, and thoughtful gifts, all handmade in my home studio and sold to customers across the UK. I love giving fabrics a second life, so I work with rescued, repurposed, and leftover materials wherever possible. It means every piece has its own character, and no two are quite the same.

Watership Down Crafts officially launched in June 2023, and I’ve been building it from the ground up ever since, learning everything as I go, from product design to photography and running a small online shop.

I also teach what I do. Since September 2025, I’ve been creating and selling PDF sewing guides and tutorials worldwide through my Shopify store. Most people find me via Pinterest, and my guides are now being used by makers in 28 different countries, with several hundred downloads sold already.

A couple of simple promises from me

• Guide support: if you ever get stuck with a sewing guide, message me and I’ll help you through it.
• Handmade returns: 14-day returns, no questions asked, as long as it’s returned in the same condition it arrived in.

A lot of my ideas come from the Hampshire countryside around me, and my dog Ted is usually close by, especially on the daily walks where the best ideas tend to show up.
